Miami, Florida: Mark Key, private detective and attorney at law, investigates a mysterious murder of a woman found dead in the Ladies Room of a swanky nightclub. Her lungs full of salt water; her evening dress soiled and in tatters; and her body riddled with stab wounds. His investigation takes him to Monte Carlo, Paris, London, New York, and Washington, D.C., searching for motives. He finds himself uncovering the wreckage that the woman left behind of the lives of those she had touched. The mystery of her death takes him back in time to a prior case involving murder and the same nightclub, the same luxury yacht, and many of the same actors. How are they connected?
